We are officially in the month of December! This usually kick starts the Christmas season with garlands being hung, parties being planned and crisp tingling holly jolly fa la la spirit is starting to mix through the cool Christmas breeze. Yes! Christmas a come!
This time also means the cliched, highly unrealistic but greatly desired list of Hallmark Countdown to Christmas Movies have been premiered and their release dates penned into journals and calendars of all who look forward to it annually. I COULD NOT WAIT! And what better way to spend those hours in lockdown during this festive season, than binge watching Hallmark movies?
To be completely transparent, stress is something my body does not process well so, I watch Hallmark movies throughout the year! Christmas time is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE type of cliche movies they air though. It is LITERALLY my goal to visit a “Christmas Town” one year. Walking in trench or snow coats, wearing boots and donned in winter gear, down a small street that is 100% devoted to celebrating Christmas, smelling Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, hearing the bells of small shop doors opening, drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows, cinnamon and peppermint from a small town café and eating the best pie! I know… highly unrealistic, but guess who is gonna try? Me, yes all of me!
Until that opportunity presents itself however, I will indulge in the movies that transport me to different (but very very similar) towns on my screen, living in the hifalutin, la la land that is Hallmark Christmas movie universe.
We, the Hallmark enthusiasts, can expect 23 movies from our favourite Christmas channel beginning with the Jingle Bell Bride on Saturday October 24. Of course I have already started and have watched a few. The list is below for your perusal and total enjoyment!
So, pour yourself a glass of wine (and keep the bottle close by) or prepare your favourite hot drink with marshmallows, cinnamon and peppermint sticks and curl up under a blanket and enjoy the fanciful whims that Hallmark gifts us yearly!
Because I got a head start on the holiday list for 2020, I’ve gone all the way back to 2017 to watch previously missed and re-watch movies I have already watched from the Hallmark Channel. Feel free to do the same, because, who wouldn’t want a little extra Christmas cheer?
The lists are below for your convenience!
There is also an app you can download to follow and check what the movies are and tick them one by one as you indulge in one of the most anticipated events every Christmas season. The app can be found in Google Play Store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hallmark.countdown&hl=en&gl=US
Will you be indulging this year? Let me know if you have started and which date you’re at in the comments below!
